Most create, think and re-think, and hold onto their problems because it gives them a sense of identity. It gives them a story to tell & share with others. Perhaps this explains why most hold onto their pain way beyond where it only drains and weakens instead of its usefulness and ability to serve.
Most people’s repetitious thoughts of their past mistakes play over and over again in their head, allowing feelings of embarrassment, humiliation, guilt, and regret to form their thoughts, activities and actions in the present. They hold onto disappointment and draw back their power in the moment which creates their fear about their future. The addictive act of preoccupation weakens their power of positive action. The stress created is held in their minds and bodies, which can lead to serious mental and physical health issues, while at the same time, accepting the fixed state of obsession and tension, as normal.
